Masterton local Zane 'the Hybrid' Hopman steps into his first Professional boxing title fight when he takes on Christchurch's Ratu Dawai a former New Zealand Light Heavyweight Champion.  Dawai stopped Sam Rapira to win the New Zealand Light Heavyweight Title in what was considered at the time to be a major upset.  He travels to Hopman's hometown as he did Rapiras intent on causing another boilover and spoiling the party!

For Hopman the bout is a crossroads of sorts, a win takes him toward the next level whilst a loss would be devastating.  A chance to etch himself into New Zealand Boxing history beckons.

A Corporate Boxing Undercard featuring local Wairarapa Locals gets the evening started.
